Dennis' New Year's Day Hangover Run
We left the Mountain House at 10:30 AM and made our way to Patterson to Jim and Cherry's for some refreshments. I'm guessing at close to 70 bikes, two-by-two, easing our way down I-5, much to the delight(?) of other motorists and a few CHP! The roar was somewhere between deafening and exhilarating and I found myself smiling, grinning, and yes, even laughing out loud as we thundered down the freeway. Then we left Patterson for Dennis and Cindy's bar, "Dick's", for some serious eating and visiting (I'm not leaving anything out am I?) Most of the old (mid-80's) crowd stayed until the end and we had a great time reminising. [Speaking of reminising, yes, the old story is true: Mike C. did show up (once) without a sleeping bag for a day-trip which turned into an overnighter. And he hasn't been allowed to forget it!! Ha!]
The 2mikeys broke in new Electric Vests this trip. Mike N. had
the Harley Davidson vest by Gerbing
with just an on/off switch (left "on" while riding) and Mike C. had his
Widder
vest on (with it's electronic thermostat set at about 35%). We each
give these vests a thumbs-up! Harley dealers are now selling the
Gerbing's (with a Harley logo). For a huge selection of heated clothing,
including Widder, check out Road
Rider in San Jose.
